They have been very difficult times, and international tourism has been most affected by the covid-19 pandemic, borders were closed, flights routes disappeared indefinitely and we got used to short trips within our own countries as the only relief to our traveling spirit.

With mass vaccination, however, the world slowly returns to normal and Brazil is no exception, for those of us who love to travel to this wonderful country, lay down again on the white sand of its beaches begins to stop being a distant dream and is emerging as a possible reality.

Even with precautions and fear of new strains and waves that clear us back, but unlike last year, the next southern hemisphere summer will show most of the population immunized and that gives hope in a very short time to be able to travel again to Brazil as before the pandemic, to enjoy again the beaches, the culture and the landscapes that only the giant of South America can offer.

The are many good news at this time, after a second wave that swept the country during much of this 2021, the rate of transmission of coronavirus in Brazil is the lowest since the beginning of the measurements, this week it was located at 0.60 being the previous lower rate of 0.68 in November 2020; vaccination with at least one dose is more than 70% of the population, and the people with a complete vaccination scheme is approaching 50%, hospital occupancy is under control and the arrival of hot weather in most of the country contributes to give optimism about the epidemiological situation for the next few months, as a result of this, domestic tourism is currently beginning to show a movement similar to pre-pandemic times.

The trend towards openness in almost all the states of Brazil is total, and it is even expected (with current epidemiological statistics) that new year and carnival parties will take place practically without restrictions, in the majority of the destinations it is estimated that the face masks will no longer be mandatory from sice next month.

In any case, it is very important to clarify that there are always possibilities of regression with this treacherous pandemic. But the vaccination landscape for the first time generates an optimistic scenario based on real data.

The current situation is almost that of a post-pandemic tourist boom, the last long weekend (between 8 and 12 October) has shown practically full occupancy in all the main destinations in the country and wide movements by land and air.
Although each state and municipality has its own rules, in practice we have seen that in hotels the restrictions are practically non-existent or only informative, many tourists comply with the use of face masks but in practice, from what we are seeing, neither the authorities nor the facility control compliance too much, the employees of hotels, inns and gastronomic establishments, on the other hand, in general, do respect the protocols.
In restaurants and bars, in general the use of face masks is respected in closed spaces and in transit, in outdoor tables, however, it is not required and practically nobody uses them.
In supermarkets / pharmacies / stores, the strict use of face masks is required and we have verified that it is widely respected.
The availability of gel alcohol is also quite respected in almost all establishments, mainly restaurants, bars and supermarkets.
Although each state and municipality has the power to independently restrict access to its beaches, from what we see in practice the situation is practically the same as before the pandemic, that is, it is extremely rare to see someone with a face masks on the beach or bars of the beach, except closed areas or passageways (bathrooms for example).
The trend is towards total opening and more and more flights are available. The current situation, according to the last decree of the day October 5, 2021 , authorizes the entry of foreign tourists by air as long as the following requirements are met:
Those who had covid in the last 90 days and continue with a positive PCR : they must present to enter Brazil:
As previously stated, the borders have been opened and the requirements for entry are the same as for air travel, that is:

Another good news for foreign travelers is that Brazil has a preatty high exchange rate (at the time of this article the dollar is around 5.50 Brazillian Real and the Euro at 6.40) and although inflation is incipient, prices for International tourism are quite attractive both in restaurants, bars and hotels / inns.
For example, a 600ml beer can be obtained between 2 and 2.50 dollars in bars and restaurants, even on the beach, a pizza is around 6 dollars and rooms in hotels / inns for 2 people are easily obtained for less than 20 dollars a night.
