Praia do Espelho

Beaches in Brazil. 19-Jun-2016 .brazilbeachtravel
Praia do espelho, located in the south of Bahia, on the so-called coast of discovery, is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Brazil

Praia do Espelho is one of several beaches that frequently appears in the lists as one of the most beautiful beaches in Brazil; it is estimated that Brazil has more than 2,000 beaches distributed in more than 7,000 kilometers of maritime coastline, many of them of great natural beauty; Praia do Espelho, with its natural pools, its imposing vegetation and its cliffs, has more than enough merits to be highlighted in any of these lists.

Many of the natural attractions that highlight Praia do Espelho are shared with its neighboring beaches: & nbsp; the Trancoso beaches , Arraial d'Ajuda or Caraíva usually have similar characteristics; However, what differentiates them and drives them to the aforementioned lists of the most beautiful beaches, is that Praia do Espelho has all the best characteristics of the beaches that surround it combined within the same inlet.

One of the most outstanding features of Praia do Espelho are its reefs that create beautiful natural pools, true mirrors of water(hence the name of the beach) that often give the sea a turquoise color that is more difficult to find on neighboring beaches mentioned before.

Besides the sea and its natural pools, Praia do Espelho has white and colorful cliffs at its ends, very white sand and forests of palm trees(coconut trees) by the sea, the beautiful inlet on its northern side is protected by a particular cliff white that reaches almost to touch the sea.

Tips to enjoy Praia do Espelho better

* The beach bars/restaurants are expensive and usually charge a minimum consumption value(about 40 Reals per person) that enables them to sit at their tables and use their resources. It is not compulsory to eat or consume in them to enjoy the beach , you can bring your own food and drinks since the beach is public, but always remember to have an ecological conscience and not leave trash or anything in the Beach.

* Anyone who intends to spend only the day there and not use the services of the tours programmed by guides and tourist agencies, must take into account the bus schedules that go between Arraial d'Ajuda and Caraiva( only bus and cheapest option to get to Praia do Espelho) and that the stop where the bus leaves us is 4 kilometers from the beach , a journey that must be made on foot and often under a strong sun.

* The color of the sea is one of the most beautiful in the region and throughout Brazil, but the beauty and color of the famous "mirrors"(natural pools) depends a lot on the state of the tide and that there have not been frequent rains, in summer it is easier to find the typical paradisiacal picture postcard scenario that this beach offers us.

Budget options to enjoy Praia do Espelho

Praia do Espelho, as generally happens with the increasingly famous beaches and whose access is relatively difficult, is an expensive destination, both for those who intend to stay in the vicinity of the beach, and for those who only think of going there to spend the day. However, there are ways to reduce costs, logically losing in comfort and services, we separate the options between how to get there and how to stay on the beach :

How to get to praia do Espelho

The cheapest way to get to Praia do Espelho is by bus but we must clarify that it is not a very convenient option, you can reach it from all the surrounding destinations, from Porto Seguro (previous crossing with a raft until http://www.brasilplayas.com/ blog/trips-arraial-dajuda/arraial-dajuda "> Arraial d'Ajuda , from Arraial d'Ajuda, from Trancoso and from Caraíva( How to get to Praia do Espelho ), we say and emphasize that it is not very convenient because the bus will leave us on the route about 4 kilometers from the beach, and that journey between the stop and the beach should be done on foot, depending on the time of the year, time and luggage it is not viable to walk 4 kilometers under the Bahia sun.

The bus from the company Águia Azul costs 16 Reales, that is, 32 Reals round trip, leaving Porto Seguro(Raft side Arraial d'Ajuda actually, View on satellite map ) at 7:15, 11:00(only in high season) and 15: 00 hs. For the return once spent the day there, leaves Caraíva at 16:00 hs. The other options to get there are via land hired with tourism agency and guide in Spanish(costs 50 Reales per person round trip), this option is recommended for those who want to avoid unexpected and uncomfortable. In high season there is also the option of the ride by boat from Arraial d'Ajuda, in summer 2013, it cost around 80 Reales. The other option is to rent a car in Arraial d'Ajuda, Porto Seguro or Trancoso. Renting a car in the region costs between 80 and 100 Reals per day. The access route is very precarious for normal vehicles and it becomes impassable when it rains a lot. Those who want to go by car are interested in consulting with Aguia Azul employees about the state of the routes before embarking on a car trip to Praia do Espelho, you can find the employees of the Aguia Azul bus company at all the important stops on the route: Porto Seguro/Arraial d'Ajuda(raft side Arraial), Arraial d'Ajuda center(Plaza de la iglesia, See in satellite map ) and Trancoso.In all the options by land take into account that the routes are very precarious(by car you can reach by asphalted route only to Trancoso) and when it rains they become impassable to the point of suspending the omnibus that goes to Caraíva, the only access to the Praia do Espelho via bus.

How to stay in Praia do Espelho

The cheapest way to stay there during the day at the beach is to bring food and drinks, it is best to use a cooler from Telgopor(easy to get and cheap in Porto Seguro) to avoid the exorbitant prices of the barracks(beach restaurants) and their minimum consumption(around 40 reais per person). Those who want to stay on the beach have the option of staying in inns, there are in the Vila de Outeiro, the vila is basically a closed condominium in the part of Praia do Espelho that is located above the cliff, and there are also some inns on the beach. Given the exclusivity of the beach, the prices to stay there are quite expensive you have to think from 300 Reales per day per apartment for two people. & Nbsp;

Attractions way to Praia do Espelho
