Búzios

Only two hours by car from Rio de Janeiro, if the classic bottlenecks of the Rio-Niteroi bridge do not exist, this irregular peninsula is full of geographical features in the form of small inlets between mountains covered with vegetation and crystalline green sea. Búzios is not a cheap destination if compared to other beaches in Brazil, in some cases even things cost twice as much as in other places. However, it is possible to find some inns and tourist packages of medium price, especially in the low season, which allow you to enjoy their charms.

For backpackers and low budgets, it is recommended to stay in the neighbor Cabo Frio ( See on map ), where it is possible to find apartments and cheap inns, and from there access to the exclusive charms of the sophisticated Bardot peninsula by a trip of approximately 40 minutes by bus. This option also allows you to enjoy the attractions of Cabo Frio that include some very nice beaches such as Praia das Conchas and Praia do Peró , and good nightlife in bars on the banks of the Boulevard do canal . You can also visit Arraial do Cabo more easily, the other peninsula of the região dos lagos located a few kilometers south of Cabo Frio, with beautiful beaches of similar charms to those of Búzios but less crowded.

How to get to Búzios

Via Aérea: The company TEAM Linhas Aéreas operates regular flights from the Santos Dumont airport in Rio de Janeiro that arrive at the small airport of Búzios( View on satellite map ). There are also Air Taxis from both Rio and São Paulo.

Via Omnibus: daily departures approximately every 3 hours from the Novo Rio terminal by the company Viação 1001 . The ticket costs between 26 and 29 reais.

In auto:( See map ) From Rio de Janeiro you cross the Rio-Niteroi bridge to Rio Bonito, then the Vía Lagos towards Araruama/Cabo Frio until the RJ-106 road towards Macaé/Búzios.
